Andy Warhol Double Marlon

Andy Warhol Double Marlon

This book was sent to Christie’s top clients to promote the sale of Andy Warhol’s Double Marlon silkscreen.
It was divided into two sections: Film stills of Marlon Brando in The Wild One, the subject of the work, arranged as a flip book; followed by two essays about Warhol’s approach to filmaking and the silkscreen itself. Schott, the original maker of the Perfecto leather jacket that Brando wore in the movie, manufactured custom leather book jackets. The painting sold for $32,521,000 in Christie’s Post-War and Contemporary Evening Sale on May 13, 2008.
